Oscar

Handler - Pete Mounsey

Oscar is nearly three years old, he is a Tricolour Border Collie from a farm near Whitby up here on the North York Moors. His mother is a working sheepdog and his father is a farm layabout!

We are in Stage One, hopefully soon to be in Stage Two.

Oscar is quite a friendly, laidback hound, he doesn't do water or styles when there is bridge and an opening gate with a mug to open it for him.

He has a fondness for checking a casualties level of consciousness by licking their ears! (the Canine Coma scale)

Murphy

Handler: Tim Hollinshead

MURPHY - DoB: Mar 17 - Breed: Labrador (Fox Red)

Team: Cleveland Mountain Rescue

Murphy is Tim’s second search dog, his first a fox red Labrador Jake was retired in Jul 17 due to injury.

Tim made the decision to train a second dog; again a fox red Labrador named Murphy.  At 12 weeks old Murphy’s training started by attending both local and national training courses. Murphy passed Registration Test in Peak District and his Stock Test in the Lake district.

The team have now moved into Stage One where Murphy will start to learn the game of searching by becoming focused on the toy that will become his reward for the missing person. As well as local training each week they will be attending training courses in the North Yorkshire Moor, Peak District, Northumberland, Devon, Cornwall, the Yorkshire Dales and South Wales.
